Donna Bozza’s life-long affair with words turned professional in the 1990s when she began a successful freelance writing career covering a broad range of subjects for both regional and national magazines and newspapers. She stretched her writing muscles during a 6 year stint as a journalist with media leader Gannett and their Eastern Shore News publication. As a reporter and columnist she covered human interest stories and local politics. Bozza later specialized in regional travel as a contributing writer for Chesapeake Life Magazine.
Bozza’s thousands of articles and features have been published in a variety of print and online venues including: US Airways’ Attache Magazine, Cottage Style, Romantic Homes, Chesapeake Life, American Woman, New Woman, Cooperative Living, The Virginian-Pilot, The Oregonian, Bridal Guide, Bride’s, The Chesapeake Bay Book [as a contributor] and Hampton Roads Magazine.
Recognitions include an International Regional Magazine Award and Virginia Press Association Award.
With a detour to Destination Marketing, Bozza became the first Tourism Director for Virginia’s Eastern Shore. Under her leadership the region held the highest percentage increase in tourism revenue in Virginia and built the popular Eastern Shore of Virginia Welcome Center. For seven years she wrote the Official Visitors’ Guide for the Eastern Shore of Virginia. She was recognized with the Rising Star Leadership Award from the Virginia Association of Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Recently she made a U-Turn to her first love –writing.
